This is a daughter blogg to my previous personal blogg "The Good Old Days". In it I will post both diary entries and rants about music, fashion, movies and other hells of life and throw in some lists and polls of weekly events. Much of what I did before, but spell checked and cohearent ^^.
So leave a comment after the beep and here is my first rant....
Peter Doherty's:
I've always said that it is fortunate that Jim Morrisson became a musician, vocalizing his poetry. Since face it, he wasn't much of a poet.
After listening to PeteR Doherty's ”Grace-Wasteland” album, I can only say one thing:
Damn shame the boy didn't stick to poetry.
The charm, the attitude, the lyrics; it's all gone. So here I sit like a sodden St:Bernard outside a steakhouse in the rain, feeling both dissappointed and abandonned. Abandonned by Pete's former ability to make any lyrics credible and any note, even false, be justifiable through his charm.
I don't know whether it is the magic between him and Carl or Pete's turmoiled enivronment that is lacking. Whatever message Pete was trying to mediate, it's just not getting through the seemingly endlessly slow notes and the now unjustifiably false vocals.
This album is unpreditcably mediocre and mainstream. This is too ordinary even for a half hearted try at making a CD. What became of the unlikely lads...really?
